National Nurses Week

National Nurses Week

National Nurses Week is celebrated annually from May 6th (also known as National Nurses Day) through May 12th, the birthday of Florence Nightingale (the founder of modern nursing). The origins of Nurses Week date back to 1953, when President Eisenhower was urged to proclaim a National Nurses Day. The proclamation was never issued but National Nurses Week was celebrated in October 1954 nonetheless. President Reagan formally proclaimed National Nurses Day on May 6th in 1982, and the ANA began celebrating National Nurses Week every May in 1990.

Whether you rely on the skilled care of nurses every day, or your life was briefly touched by a nurse that went above and beyond the call of duty, National Nurses Week 2008 is the time to show your recognition of, and appreciation for, the nurses in your life. Tafford offers a great selection of nursing gifts for every budget. Starting at just $0.99, we offer a variety of nurse gifts including nursing scrubs, gift certificates, stethoscopes, nursing tees, fun nursing socks, tote bags, badge holders, and more! If you are buying for a large group of nurses, call us at 1-888-TAFFORD Monday-Friday between 9 and 5 Eastern Time to learn about volume discounts for 2008 Nurses Week.
